Threw An Opening

May's challenge should be fun it is called threw an opening ... Imagine the possibilities. I will be working a lot with that this month. I am feeling the need to be out in new places and seeing new things. I cannot wait to see what I come back with. Both of the images below were taken at Cornell Plantations.

Selective Focus

Last month we had a photo challenge within the online community I am part of and it was called Selective Focus. With this technique, we can choose one part of the image to be sharp and in focus, while the rest of the image is kept out of focus.

I very recently took my camera back out to start carrying around with me again until the colder weather comes back again. I do not hold up well in colder weather ... So I put my camera in the closet in a safe place and wait for the warmer days to come visit.

I have never really done anything with selective focus before, and I will continue to work with it as I learn. Here is my second attempt with working with what I perceive as Selective Focus.

My Crazy Little Guy ...

I think I had the biggest scare of my life for this week. I thought I was going to have to have my 2 year old Cat put to sleep. He some how got this common feline disease that causes Urinary Tract issues, and he stopped eating, drinking and using the litter pan. I took him to the vet who kept him over night and gave him IV therapy and started him on an antibiotic immediately.

His condition has improved and he is home now, but the bad news is that he could get it back!! I do not think I like that part. I just hope this was a one time thing and he does not have to suffer like that again, because I would hate to have to put him to sleep, and I will if it comes to it. I will break my heart if it has to happen ... He snuggles and loves to be cuddled all the time. The other 2 cats are all about my husband. This cat makes life a lot more interesting.

For those of you that have not seen him ... Here he is (This image of him if from last year).

Campus Cemetery

I have to get back to this cemetery when the ground is not so soft. I found a lot of interesting headstones and various other things in it, but the ground was just too soft to be walking around on so this photo was all I took. It is located near Cornell University off from Stewart Ave in Ithaca. This was the only part of this stone that I found, I wonder where the rest of it is. I hope it finds it's way back to it's resting place.

Visiting Family

I have not really been up to blogging or much of anything for a couple of weeks now, but I finally got out an took a few photos ... they are not processed yet, but I have some to share from the tail end of march.

My Niece taking a walk up the creek near her house

and the kittens trailing behind us

okay not all that great, but better than nothing.

Geting Out

Well ... I think this weekend if the weather stays nice, I will get out with the camera for the first time in well over a month, minus the recent visit to see my brother and his family as well as my mother's boyfriend's birthday party.

I guess I just have not really been in the mood to get out. I have been sick of the Winter now for about a month and just did not want to go out when it has been cold. I just kept getting sick every time I tried, So I gave up. I cannot afford the medical bills that go with getting sick all of the time. I have some insurance, but the co-pays were starting to take a toll on an already very tight budget.

I am looking forward to getting out with the camera ... So I will be posting again soon, I hope!
